Pro Horse Education Hub
Beginners' guidance on getting started with the Tack Locker. More levels coming soon.
Getting started
Set the locker up once, properly, and it stays organised — and safe to move.
- 01Position it on firm, level ground with room for the doors to open fully.
- 02Saddles on the saddle racks, bridles on the bridle racks — keep leather off the floor.
- 03Use the sliding drawers for daily kit: brushes, boots, bandages, hoof oil.
- 04Keep the bottom drawer for heavier or seasonal items so the locker stays stable.
- 05Close and lock the doors and drawers before moving it, and wheel it slowly on level ground.
- 06Wipe down and air the interior after wet days to protect leather and fittings.
- 07Check the wheels, handles and locks periodically if the locker is moved daily.
TipKeep it out of walkways and away from where horses are tied or led.
General guidance only. Always school within your own and your horse's ability, on safe going, with FEI-standard safety cups fitted on back rails and a competent person on hand.
